Prepare a personal S.W.O.T Analysis  and use it as a personal business plan to guide you in building successful career in life.  Focus on a short-term goal getting the right position; long-term goal is where you want to go in your profession. The analysis should  uncover any blinded opportunities.
Strengths – What do you do well?
Weaknesses – What could you improve?  How you plan to improve?
Opportunities – What opportunities are open to you?
Threats – What threats could harm you?

 Job Interviews
The interview is where you make a lasting impression.  Make sure the impression is a good one by doing your homework,
dressing appropriately, responding effectively to questions, and following up.

Employers want to see people who are clean and neat, speak clearly, have good posture and manners, and present a professional image.

How to Dress.
•
Wear something  current, but not too trendy.

• Never wear anything so faddish that it’s not clear what you’re trying to say.
• Suggest a skirted suit.  Skirt length should be a little below the knee (never above).
• Blouses should be a light (white, off-white) color.
• Shoes polished (no scuffs or rundown heels!) and low to med heeled.
• Makeup to a minimum, with colors in the neutrals.
• Do not bring a purse.  Keep essentials in a small clutch that will fit easily into your briefcase.

Accessorize carefully.
• Your overall look to be polished and professional.
• Don’t wear anything that draws undue attention (no noisy bracelets, happy face ties, or giant hoop earrings).
• No over body piercings.
• Keep cologne or perfume to a minimum.
• Remember, as Dr. Joyce Knudsen, AICI-CIM, image consultant and president/CEO  of The ImageMaker, Inc., says,
“Your best accessory is your smile.”

At the Interview.  As soon as you arrive, go to the restroom to check your “appearance”.  Grooming, buttons and zippers, pop
a breath mint, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and dry them.  Apply hand lotion.

• Hold everything in your left hand, leaving your right-hand free to shake hands.

• Remember, when sitting that the sole of your shoes always face flat on the floor.

• Remember, Attitude is everything during the interview.  If a sense of weakness is noticed, they will prey on it and you will lose.
Project positive and you will get positive reaction and results.
